Your History

Paul gives a short but factual history lesson to the men in the temple. He is reminding that there were many times where men have turned away from God, but God continued to work with the Israelites and offered abundant forgiveness and mercy.

The history of the Israelites is our history. God blesses us generously and we turn away. When we think all is lost God makes His presence known and redirects our life back to Him. God took on the form of human flesh to die for us that we might be saved. The ultimate sacrifice. And how do we respond?

I think of our culture today. Too many people are lost in the world. They are without faith, without hope, without love. Such a terrible life of pain and suffering. All of that can be changed by returning to God. Accepting His Son. If you receive the Son, you receive the Father. Then the Father receives us.

No other people have a God such as ours, that is one who loves us and provides for us. He becomes our food for us. He becomes human that we might become divine. Not that we are God but that we are in the Body of Christ which brings us into His divinity.

God wants all people to be with Him. He does not want anyone to be in hell, but He will grant you, through your free will, to make such a decision.

Just as our history explains who we are today, it is our history in faith that will lead us to the Father.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
