Our Four Parish Family is pleased to welcome Fr. Sagarthomasthambi Kanna, whom we will affectionately know as Fr. Thomas, as our new Parochial Vicar.
Fr. Thomas was born on May 23, 1989, in India and is the youngest of three children. His family includes his mother, Bala Mary; his late father, Johnes; his older brother, Bala; and his older sister, Jyothi.
After completing tenth grade, Fr. Thomas entered the seminary in 2005 to begin his formation for the priesthood. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree, along with degrees in Philosophy and Theology. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2018 by Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Chinnabathini Bhagyaiah for the Diocese of Guntur, India.
Over the past eight years, Fr. Thomas has served in a variety of pastoral assignments within the Diocese of Guntur. His ministry experience includes four years as an Acting Parish Priest and two years as a Pastor, faithfully serving the people entrusted to his care.
On April 14, 2026, Fr. Thomas arrived in the United States. He spent his first three months at St. Anne Church in Somerset, Wisconsin, where he became acquainted with American culture and completed the practical preparations necessary for ministry in the United States.
Fr. Thomas has now been assigned by Bishop James P. Powers as Parochial Vicar serving the Rice Lake area and the Diocese of Superior. He is excited to begin this new chapter of ministry and looks forward to serving the people of our parish family.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Fr. Thomas to our Four Parishes One Faith family. We are grateful for his willingness to serve among us and pray that God will abundantly bless his ministry in northern Wisconsin.
Welcome, Fr. Thomas!
