Matzoh Bread (Unleavened Bread)

  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 2 cups White flour ((sift first, then measure))
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Cisco ((Oil is easier to blend))
  • 1 ¼ cup Water
  1. Cut Crisco into flour and salt. Add water. Knead 10 minutes

  2. Wrap in plastic – let stand one hour.

  3. Roll out dough til you can't roll no more (about ⅛" thick or less)

  4. Cut with something about 2 ¾" size diameter (like a cookie cutter, or glass)

  5. Warm dough rolls best (warm in double boiler if you have one)

  6. Put on ungreased cookie sheet

  7. Use knife and put a cross in it, making sure not to cut all the way through (see the pdf attached below)

  8. Bake 5-7 minutes at 350°. When starts turning brown – Take out!

  9. Let cool
