Matzoh Bread (Unleavened Bread)

Equipment

  • Cookie Sheet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Glass or cookie cutter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 2 cups White flour (sift first, then measure)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Cisco (Oil is easier to blend)
  • 1 ¼ cup Water

Instructions

  • Cut Crisco into flour and salt. Add water. Knead 10 minutes
  • Wrap in plastic - let stand one hour.
  • Roll out dough til you can't roll no more (about ⅛" thick or less)
  • Cut with something about 2 ¾" size diameter (like a cookie cutter, or glass)
  • Warm dough rolls best (warm in double boiler if you have one)
  • Put on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Use knife and put a cross in it, making sure not to cut all the way through (see the pdf attached below)
  • Bake 5-7 minutes at 350°. When starts turning brown - Take out!
  • Let cool
