“The Light Shines in the Darkness”
By Krystal Montgomery
Sometimes we can feel so alone even when surrounded by others, even 1500 others! This can especially be true for our young people. Oftentimes, it is through others that we measure our worth and find our identity. Those of us who have been around a little longer know that isn’t the truth.
In a world where darkness can surround us and threatens to engulf our hearts and tells us we are broken and unworthy, there is light! So how do our kids come to the realization that they are His? That they are seen, known, and loved?
Last weekend, eighteen students and ten adults attended the 2024 Steubenville Conference in Rochester, Minnesota where they were able to experience Christ firsthand!
The theme this year was “Illuminate”. Our group along with close to 1500 other people had an encounter with Christ in some way. There were opportunities for reconciliation, adoration and small groups. We were able to help facilitate an encounter with Him. We were truly illuminated by His light and His immense love for all of us!
It is through this encounter with Christ that He breaks through the darkness. He reminds us that our identity is in Him. We are seen, known and loved.
“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5
Please continue to pray for our young people that the Light of Christ can not be overcome by the darkness!
