Blurry
“You are witnesses of these things.” I woke up this morning with something of a hangover, my vision seemed kind of blurry, and I was having trouble getting my mind to work. No, I was not out drinking. I was experiencing withdrawal from all the great liturgies last week. I mean we had Holy Thursday and the readings for the Last Supper. Then we walked with Jesus to Calvary and were crucified with Him. In exultation, we were raised with Him. We are truly witnesses of all these things. And then I woke up this morning and realized I am still in this world. Ugh! Did you listen to the news? I should not have. Did you look outside? So gray, where are all the little candles of Easter Vigil? Was it all just a dream?
No, I witnessed all those things. I was there. I heard the words of Jesus. My spirit was lifted to heaven with all the music and incense. Even though it may seem like a memory, it still happened. The tomb was found empty. So, let us shake the cobwebs from our mind. Jesus is giving us a commission.
Go out to all the world. Share the gospel message. Be a witness to His Resurrection. Make a difference in the world. It does not have to something great but something you can do with the talents and gifts God has given you. That is all He asks.
May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
