Your Name
I wish I could say your name out loud, right now. Our names are important to us. We can be in a busy school or a bustling airport when someone says our name. Immediately we stop and look. Who called? Who said my name? If someone wants to talk specifically just to you they say your name first. Remember when your parents were upset with you. It was trouble if they said your name. It was double trouble if they said your first and second name.
On the other hand, if it is someone you love and they whisper your name from across the room you not only can hear them but you can feel their presence. Just think how Mary responded when Jesus said her name in today’s reading. Jesus always calls you by name. We need to listen to Him. This Octave of Easter be aware of the many times Jesus will call your name today.
May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
