True Then True Today

How did those first Christians spread the faith? Well, it was not through some fancy program. They did not send people to school. There were no tests. There was no study this for a year. No. It was just people talking to people sharing their experiences.

The first Christians would tell the amazing things Jesus did. His Resurrection from the dead. His Ascension into heaven. The coming of the Holy Spirit. And they shared what they remembered, careful to keep all the details as accurate as possible. Then they explained how all this had changed their lives. What they shared was the truth given to them by Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

What is the best way today to share the faith? Well, what was true then is true today. We want to do the same thing they did. It is not all fancy programs and glossy handouts. It is real people talking to people about the faith.

That Jesus became man. He lived among us and did many great signs and miracles. He was scourged and crucified. Through His Resurrection He promises hope for eternal life for all. We know this because He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God.

When we stick to the truth people believe. When we try to embellish the truth, we fail. The truth is we must let God change people’s hearts and we continue to pray for them.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
