He Comes to Him at Night
Nicodemus was one of the men asking to take down Jesus’ body after his death on the cross. Before that he comes to Jesus secretly. Why? Why did he have to come at night?
Have you ever been bothered by a problem where you have spent the entire night awake? You just had to have an answer. You wanted to know. You couldn’t quiet your mind to fall asleep. You needed to get outside and walk for a while. I think of Nicodemus in this way. He sneaks off to see Jesus.
What are you all about? How can a grown man be born again? Can you really forgive sins?
What is Jesus all about? If you are the Son of God . . . so Satan challenges Jesus. And what about the question: “Who do you say I am?” And how did you answer just now?
We continue in the Easter season. Jesus appears to many, and many are baptized. The challenge is can you be like Thomas and say, “My Lord and my God.” Baptism is being born again of the Spirit. Every day we are called to be born again. To love God and follow His commandments.
May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
