Blinded by the Light

Jesus proclaims Himself as the truth.

It is hard to understand what truth is. It appears we have truly little agreement as to the truth. We all seem to have our own version of truth. Jesus says we would rather have the darkness than be in the light.

As an example, a man does not want to believe the sun rises each. He refuses to open his eyes to see the light. By not seeing the sun he can claim there is no sun. A poor example? Then think of it this way. Many people expend great amounts of energy to succeed in their lives. They have a preconceived notion of what success is. In this endeavor they close their eyes to their spiritual needs. If they cannot see Jesus and how He is in their lives they do not have to deal with Jesus. They prefer the darkness here in earth.

But we must never forget, one day you will have to stand in the light of Christ. What will happen then if you cannot open your eyes because your eyes are not used to the light?

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
