Paid in full

Remember how you felt the day you paid for your house?  Your car?  Your student loans?  You were grateful that you finally made it.  Maybe you were glad to have a little extra money.  How many years ago was it when you first took that loan?

As you know, missing a payment is often frowned upon.  The gospel shared how a lost payment was handled two thousand years ago.  We need to learn how to manage our finances properly.  Just as important, or more, is how we learn to develop that relationship with God.  I do not want anyone to be thrown into a burning furnace.

Since then we have learned that whether it is finance or a relationship with God, a Catholic mentality of mercy and forgiveness must be incorporated into how we respond to others.  God forgives our sins, His Son paid the debt in its entirety.  We must do the same for others, helping each other pay their debt in full.

No one can do it on their own.  We need the help of others as we help others, all working with God’s grace toward heaven.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen
