He Began to Teach Them Many Things

Catholic Schools’ Week draws to a close today. Even though it has been a cold week and most of the recess time has been indoors there have been many warm and heart touching moments.

The excitement of participating in activities not done in a normal school day was fun and the students learned new talents and skills. The gospel hints at this concept today. The disciples had been sent out by Jesus. They did not have Bibles or the Catechism, only the teaching of Jesus. And the time spent with Jesus has not been all that long.

Learning continues during our lifetime. Jesus continues teaching. Knowledge of God is endlessness. We can never hope to know all about God. But because we know God loves us and we desire to love God, we need to learn more about God.

We are limited to our human mind. And it can be overwhelming. Fortunately, we know God knows this. And He teaches us what we need as we need it.

Can you trust Him with that? Trusting God is showing you love Him. Jesus, I trust in you. I want to know you more. I want to be close to you. Let me sit at your feet just to hear your words. Holy Spirit, open my mind and heart to love you more and more.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen
