Sheep & Goats

You know the commandments. You also know the beatitudes. Jesus teaches how to blend the beatitudes with the commandments. As the commandments are rules or laws, the beatitudes are forgiveness and mercy.

To live this life Jesus calls us to what we must be: humble people walking with God. We do what is right not calling attention to ourselves. We wake up each morning and we think of the people we love first. Then we go to work.

We help those in need, those needing food, clothing, and shelter. We bring comfort and love to those who are in hospitals or in prison. We are the sheep following our shepherd. We hear His voice.

On the other side of the fence are the goats. They were busy with everything that focused on them, their career, their possessions, and their image. I’ve seen a new acronym lately. It is the word: GOAT! It means the Greatest Of All Time.

What side of the fence are you on?

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen
