Alright! Time to move into Lent. It begins this Wednesday. We will be distributing ashes but not in the way you think. The Vatican has directed that we do not smear ashes on the forehead as we have done in the past but sprinkle ashes on top of the head. Not a fist full of dirt, but just a few grains. I think I will invite people to make the sign of cross as they walk through the line. I am sure there are many other ways you can imagine of doing this, but this method is used in other cultures, so we already have a precedence established. And at our Four Parishes One Faith Cluster we have eight services set up. Hope to see you at one of them for sure.

Another great tradition we have: Stations of the Cross. We have been celebrating this prayer for centuries. And we are making provisions for you to participate every week either on Wednesday evenings or Friday evenings. Our Lady of Lourdes and St Joseph will be Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM. St John the Evangelist is on Friday at 6:00 PM and Holy Trinity on Friday will begin at 6:30 PM. Come join us.

And on March 14 Holy Trinity is doing a Curbside Spring Dinner from 11:30 to 1:00. Calling in for reservations would be a great help. Yes, they will have kolaches and dumplings. What more could you ask for, right?

And put a marker on your calendar for April 18. Our Lady of Lourdes is also planning a curbside pickup for their spring dinner. There will be more details coming soon.

Easter comes early this year so Lent is going to move fast. Be prepared. Plan for a holy Lent now.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
