Made By God

This is written for the Children’s Mass for today.

My family puts pictures on Facebook. It is a great way for me to see my family because they all live so far away. Well, every once in awhile I see other things on Facebook that make me wonder. Is this true or is it fake. For example, there was a post that said here is a new way to eat spaghetti. It was a little movie clip. In the little clip there was an elderly lady at a restaurant who ordered spaghetti. The waitress brought her this big plate of spaghetti. I wondered how she was going to eat it. I make a great mess of it when I try to eat spaghetti. It gets all over my face and into my beard. Sometimes my beard turns red.

So, what this lady did was take her fork and she pushed the fork into the middle of the spaghetti. Then she started to twirl her fork round and round. Pretty soon she had all the spaghetti twirled around her fork. Then this is where it gets a little weird. She opened her mouth and put everything up to her mouth but not in it. Then with the other hand she started to turn her ear. As she turned her ear the spaghetti would go into her mouth one piece at a time. She turned her ear until all the spaghetti was gone.

Do you think that would work? No, probably not. There are a lot of people trying to tell us how things are supposed to work. That is why today’s first reading is so important. We must remember that God made everything. The earth, the sky, the sea. And He made this world so that it would work just the way He wanted it too. And He made us so that we would help Him. We are to take what He gave us and with our skills and talents make this world a better place for all of us. Jesus healed the lame and cured the blind. We can be the hands of Jesus to help each other. We can be His voice to let people know about God. What will you do today?

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
