Joy in Your Heart

Paul introduces us to many people that he called friends and coworkers in evangelizing and sharing the Word of God. We should never forget that Paul had many friends and acquaintances along the way. Just as we do. It is not a one-person show. We are all working together. And together we bring about the gospel message.

As you grow deeper in your faith the flame of desire to do more grows and can envelope us. Now that is ok if it is God’s Will. But if it is simply your desire you will find yourself becoming frustrated, depressed, and exhausted. Perhaps even, in your mind, unappreciated. Why? You really need to take that to prayer. What God has planned for you is to have a joy filled life. If you are not experiencing that then it is not God with a faulty plan, but you in how you are discerning God’s Will for you.

God knows your heart. We all do many good things, every day. But what is your motivation for doing them? Is it because you have a servant heart and find joy in being of service? Or is it just another requirement or obligation? And one other thought to leave you with. Even if what you do is seen as an obligation you can make it something positive and wonderful because God has filled your heart with joy. Yes, even the little things of every day can give glory to God if accept God’s Will for your life.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
