The Second Coming of Christ

Here are links to our readings for the day:

The Second Coming of Christ

In Thessalonians we are told to not be influenced by individuals who proclaim they have special knowledge of the end of the world. They do not.

Yes, they will point to scripture and other so called ‘signs’ but no one except God knows when. It is important for us to desire greatly to be with God, but we are to live our life to the best of our ability.

What are we to believe? We have the Scriptures and apostolic preaching as explained by the church. This is known as public revelation. There are private revelations given to individuals through prayer or perhaps some mystical revelation. Private revelation is only binding on those who receive them.

Sometimes we get so caught on the small stuff we lose sight of the most important things. That is, God is in charge. We are to love God and our neighbor. We are to be a kind, compassionate, and forgiving people. We refer to all this as the big picture. Live in the big picture.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
