Is It Worth It?

The month of April is traditionally dedicated to devotion to Jesus in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The Catholic Church teaches that the Blessed Sacrament is the real and living presence of Christ—His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—received into our souls with every reception of Holy Communion. Our Eucharistic Lord is the source and summit of our Christian life, the ultimate proof of His infinite love for us.

Amazing how anger takes over our ability to think and reason. Some of the people recognize Jesus as a prophet, even the Christ, the anointed one. The Pharisees are critical and overbearing with their venomous remarks. They have decided to not follow their own laws of justice, they just want the blood of Jesus.

When we do an examination of conscience, do we consider the times we have become blind from the anger and hatred in our hearts? People share that they are so angry with our government that they cannot sleep. Anger and allowing hatred to take over your life will only hurt you. It will make you sick, run the risk of something major like a stroke or heart attack. You do not even feel better carrying such dangerous grudges on your heart.

Is it really worth it? It is out of your control. What you do control is the TV clicker. Turn off the TV. Do what you must – separate yourself until you can manage your emotions. Turn to God in prayer.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen
