Water Everywhere
We have water everywhere. Not just ordinary water but water that has healing properties.
It dawned on me that God’s grace is everywhere, too. It flows from Him to everyone. Like the flowing water out of temple, God’s graces give us life, nourish us with His love, are healing, and we who live in His love produce fruits resulting from His grace. As from the Gospel there are pools of living water who wash our souls clean that we may be presented to the Lord. Jesus taught that these pools of water are the visible signs of His grace. But it is not the pool of water that brings the sacrament to life but the word of God. I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Still, the man washed clean and healed, why did he tell the Jews about Jesus? Did he think the Jews wanted to be baptized too? Did this man desire to have an elevated status among Jewish leaders?
Jesus told the man to go and sin no more. There is not enough information to determine exactly what this man was thinking. But it does show that once we have been baptized and healed, we are subject to temptation and must be aware of our actions and thoughts on how they impact others. Be sensitive to the needs of others today.
May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
