Wisdom From Above

James asks, are you wise and understanding? How would you know? He continues by telling us we will know by our good works and a humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitter and jealous you are focused on earthly, unspiritual, and even demonic things. We do not need anything of that.

Wisdom from above then is pure, peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits without inconstancy or insincerity. How do we achieve that? You need to focus on things from above. When are we most focused on these things from above? Prayer. When we are in dialogue with God. Not just a quick prayer in the morning and a short prayer at night. But really in prayer. When you spend time in prayer you will find that inner peace, you will discover the ability to forgive others, and this will help you develop an inner peace that we all desire.  Lent is coming up soon. Why not give up a little more time to spend with God in prayer?

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
