Are Your Prayers Answered?

When they are, do you remember to give thanks to God? I hope you offer at least a humble ‘thank you, Lord’.

What do you say when your prayer is not answered? Do you remember to thank God for His not answering? You should, and you know that. You know God knows what is best for you. What you do not know is that by God denying your request you were probably saved from some sort of pain or trial. Thank God for that, too!

Solomon’s prayers were true, but his heart was not in the prayers. He knew what to say but he was not authentic. Just going through the motions does not cut it. Not with God, not with people. We can see through the falsehood.

What is real? What is authentic? A woman who loves her child so much that she is willing to go out of her way to ask for healing for her daughter from a stranger. When you’re willing to make a sacrifice and not count the cost to do so. When you are willing to give up everything to save someone else. Wait a minute. Is this not what God did for you? Thank you, God, with all that I am, all that I have, thank you God.

May the Lord bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
